When CBFF purchased 9 W. 25th Street, it had been known most recently as the Autograph Playhouse. Over the years, this theater has been through many iterations. It was built in 1946 as a 400 seat theater before sitting vacant for several years.

The transformation from a vacant and blighted property into the vibrant multi-use arts hub that it is today was made possible by the equity and perseverance of the Figure 53 team who envisioned making this project a reality.

However, this transformation would not have been possible without the participation of CBFF’s Acquisition Fund, along with the support of both the CBFF’s Loan Funds and the State of Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development State Revitalization Program BRNI funds.
